I have been working with a lovely client over the past few weeks who was preparing her house for her daughter's pre-wedding celebrations!
With a beautiful antique-filled home, she needed some help with furniture & art placement after getting a new sofa, some old antique sofas reupholstered, new Persian rugs and English Chippendale chairs re-upholstered.
Thrilled with the results, we then moved on to planning her daughter's bridal shower/kitchen tea. The theme was Diamonds & Pearls and it was set to be a Sunday garden brunch at their lovely home.
In the foyer of their home, guests were greeted by this terrarium display I created using glass cloches', strings of pearls & diamonds, faux moss & cherry blossom branches.
The guests weren't aware, but the silver vase in the middle of this display is actually the bombonierie/gift that they will be receiving at the wedding!
I also styled this special display. The wall features black & white photos of the bride and groom's parents & grandparents on their wedding days, displayed in baroque style cardboard frames.
On the table we had custom napkins made as a gift for each guest. They featured the pattern from the bride's engagement invitation and a handwritten note from the bride (with a fabric marker), tied with ribbon with a little thank you tag made by me.
The table also included silver trays with all the bombonierie/guest gifts that some immediate family members gave out at their wedding.
Beverages were displayed on this cabinet which included 2 apothecary drink dispensers, striped straws & a variety of different size glasses. Labels were also designed by me. Drinks included apple & mint, fresh orange juice, wildberry punch, wine, and guests were greeted at the door with a waiter (bride's brothers) serving them a glass of champagne!
Brunch was professionally catered for with hot & cold delights including some delicious Bircher muesli.... BUT the showstopper at the brunch was the sweets table.
We included cake pops, flavoured marshmallow, white lindt balls, macarons, red velvet cupcakes, babycakes, lemon meringue cake, pear & almond tart, lemon baked cheesecake, mini meringues, sugared almonds & Lebanese/Italian sweets.
Outside we had white tables & chairs with clustered of jam jars filled with white florals.
I tied these tags (below) that I created onto some twiggy branches for a wedding advice game which tied into our Diamonds & Pearls theme. Guests were to write their "Pearl of Wisdom" to the bride on the back of these tags.....!
